IWAS President  & Vice President gone rogue

Perhaps the title of this latest post is a little misleading as per the definition of a "Rogue" it is not entirely accurate. "A rogue is a vagrant person who wanders from place to place. Like a drifter, a rogue is an independent person who rejects conventional rules of society in favor of following their own personal goals and values."-Wikipedia Sourced

Due to the complexity of the IWAS organisation and basically everyone having different commitments  and schedules to keep to it can be difficult to get a general consensus of when the next meet/gathering/distillery visit will be.

On this occasion the President Scott Fraser and Vice President Paul Rusk  had arranged a tour and tasting session at the Cragganmore Distillery. What a detailed review and write up they have kindly decided to share on the IWAS blog and has been entirely created for the readers pleasure so they can make a balanced decision whether this distillery should be on their hit list of ones to visit or buy a bottle and enjoy it by the fire on a cold winters night.

Cragganmore Distillery Review

20/10/2017, 7:39:11 pm: Turkey: The President and Vice President enjoyed a 'working lunch' today at Cragganmore distillery.

We had a lovely tour guide who managed to give us a good tour by bypassing most of the 'barley, water, yeast standard information which is passed on as' It was evident that we knew our whisky and the level was raised..........

We were informed that Cragganmore was unique as it had wooden malt bins, which lets the air flow between the malted barley and help enhance Cragganmore's unique taste. I fully believe her.

Lovely looking distillery with worm tubs and odd stills to boot.

Warehouse was nice. Dunnage style and as I've been told many times, they do not keep their stock on site and spread around the world. It would be crazy to keep 100,000 casks in one place from one distillery and I agreed completely.

Then off to the tasting, which has a unique 'distillery exclusive' non age statement that delivered tasting notes of a young bourbon, with sweet dry fire,  for the small price of £80 with our £5 off voucher.

From there Paul Rusk decided to buy a bottle of Daluaine from the Flora and Fauna range while we waved goodbye to another tremendous experience from the great empire.

Author Scott Fraser As they said fair well they even took the time to get a picture of what is often touted as one of Scotland most beautiful distilleries.."TORMORE" thanks for the write up.
