Will you be my Ballantines

Ah the long hot summer of 2018 when napolenonic wars were drawing to an end and cal mac were powering ahead with the new glen sannox. On a solo mission I decided to cross the border into the wild lands of moray to tour one of Pernod Ricards shy but pretty work horses- Glenburgie distillery.

This distillery is one of the three that supply the juice to make the Wildly successful ballantines whisky and I was an eager beaver to have a look inside.

With a fantastic an in-depth tour ongoing I was trying my hardest to prize myself away from the pretty displays and immaculate distillery.

As old age creeps up on me I now struggle to remember the facts that we’re getting thrown at me by the captivating manager but I’m sure the true purists reading this blog can scan the whisky yearbook to quench your Thirst.

To summarise this distillery was up there with one of the most pleasing to the eye distillery I’ve gazed upon and with a cozy tasting room I still can’t understand why it isn’t open year round for the intrepid explorer but all in all this distillery gets the presidential 8/10 and the single malt it produces (glenburgie 15 year old) 7.5/10.
